The longer I live here on this land, the more it finds its way into my art. I FEEL this place like no other I’ve ever been. It is a presence, a friend, a character in my story. In these pieces I have incorporated grasses from my home, as well as mica gathered by Isabro Ortega, from a special site here in Truchas. He calls it tierra amarilla, or yellow dirt, because it sparkles like gold dust in the sun. I am very grateful to this homeland that is guiding me, inspiring and teaching me, grounding me. These paintings represent my gratitude |
